TUI slashes Walt Disney World holiday prices from Manchester by up to 46% for last-minute breaks

With Walt Disney World in Florida currently celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, the House of the Mouse has more to offer holidaymakers than ever. Travel firm TUI has slashed prices on breaks at dozens of Orlando hotels for June and early July, allowing travellers to get there from Manchester Airport for almost half price.

Meanwhile a host of other discounts means there are savings to be made booking with Disney direct, even during school summer holidays.

TUI's late-booking breaks to Florida can be booked up to a month in advance, and include flights and week-long stays at popular Disney resorts like the French-themed Port Orleans Riverside (reduced by 46% to £1,016 per person ) and the more family-friendly Pop Century ( £834 per person ) and the All Stars Music Resort (now £939 per person, 35% off).

Even Disney's priciest hotels have been reduced in the sale, with the Caribbean Beach Resort reduced by 40% to £1,133 per person, while Sarotoga Springs is down to £1,774 per person for a week's break, a saving of 33%.

Bargain hunters on some deals can also save an extra £150 using the discount code 834WJM2CM for departures up to July 31, although a minimum spend of £800 applies.

Interest in Walt Disney World holidays has spiked this year as holidaymakers flock to Orlando to see the fiftieth anniversary celebrations at the company's four parks - Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and the iconic Magic Kingdom that started it all.

Several new high profile additions to the parks have either recently been unveiled or will be shortly - including expansions to the Star Wars area at Hollywood Studios including the immersive hotel for anyone who has ever had the urge to pretend to be a bounty hunter, a rebrand of Epcot's Universe of Energy ride to incorporate Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and a Tron-themed rollercoaster.

For travellers keen to experience all of these things but unable to travel early enough to take advantage of TUI's discounts, the Disney Travel Company itself has unveiled discounts and bonus treats for guests booking by August 31 for travel between July 8 and September 30 this year.

The deals include 20% off room bookings and a host of extras including Memory Maker photo packages, early theme park entre and Disney Genie, the system which has replaced Fastpasses in the park.

Booking with the Disney Travel Company direct can see a family of four getting a week in a Disney All-Star Music Resort room from £1,374 per person including flights.

Travelling early will still get the best deals though and, if staying in Disney's own hotels isn't a deal breaker, then prices reduce even further for other options, including hotels on International Drive and Universal Studios-owned hotels.

The cheapest option is £536 per person for a flight from Manchester to Melbourne Orlando airport and a week's stay at CoCo Key Hotel and Waterpark, well below the usual standard flight cost from the UK to Florida.

Meanwhile, fans of all things Harry Potter can stay in a range of Universal resort hotels with seven nights at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort including flight now £840 a person travelling in early July, a reduction of 48%.
