TUI announces new flights to Mexico, Dominican Republic & Turkey as UK craves Easter beach holidays

Holiday operator and airline TUI has announced new flights across the world as Brits crave a beach holiday.

And with overseas travel well and truly back on the map and stormy weather sweeping the UK, demand for Easter beach breaks is on the up.

To help more Brits grab a sunshine getaway, TUI has announced additional flights to Mexico, Dominican Republic and Turkey from Manchester and London Gatwick this April.

Richard Sofer, TUI’s commercial and business development director, said: “We’re seeing strong demand for family packages this Easter. There has been a general uptick for long haul across the year and Easter bookings for Mexico and Dominican Republic are back to pre-Covid levels.

"Destinations nearer home are also looking positive as easier entry for teenagers and some great value offers, particularly in Turkey, unleash pent up demand. After being denied the opportunity to spend precious time on holiday for so long, we want to offer as much choice and flexibility as possible for families looking for a much-needed overseas break."

He added these additions mean customers can now choose from over 870 flights to 35 destinations this Easter.

Here's a breakdown of the destinations TUI are offering with the new flights:

Mexico

Adding an extra weekly flight to Cancun from London Gatwick from April 6 and one from Manchester from April 3, TUI will now be operating 17 flights per week to its top long haul sun destination.

Dominican Republic

Second on the long-haul hot list is Dominican Republic and an extra weekly flight from Manchester to Punta Cana from April 3 takes TUI’s weekly flight total to eight over the Easter and into summer.

Turkey

The rise of Turkey as one of the most popular short haul sun destinations continues and to meet demand two extra weekly flights will run from Manchester to Antalya in April, bringing the flying programme to 13 weekly flights over Easter. This will further ramp up with 22 weekly flights in May and 47 in June.

TUI’s top-selling destinations this Easter are:

  1. Tenerife
  2. Egypt (Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada
  3. Mexico (Cancun)
  4. Dominican Republic (Punta Cana)
  5. Lanzarote
  6. Turkey (Antalya)
