Covid rule changes in Scotland explained as Nicola Sturgeon ends legal requirements

Nicola Sturgeon has announced the remaining legal requirements on battling covid in Scotland will end next month.

It means it won't be mandatory to wear face coverings in public places from March 21 and the covid vaccine passport scheme will be ditched from Monday.

But some of the changes announced by the UK Government this week will also have an impact in Scotland - particularly when it comes to employment.

Met Office warns 'danger to life' thundersnow to hit Scotland tomorrow after storm chaos

As much as 12 inches of snow could land in parts of Scotland over the next couple of days (Katielee Arrowsmith SWNS)

Scotland will be battered by thundersnow over the coming days, the Met Office has warned.

The weather agency has issued a ‘danger to life’ yellow weather warning for snow and wind for much of the country from 6am tomorrow morning until 3pm the following day.

Forecasters say that as much as 12 inches of the wintry showers may fall during the 33-hour spell.

Winds of up to 70mph are also expected to batter much of Scotland, which could lead to blizzard conditions over higher parts of the country.

The Met Office has also suggested that the snow could also be accompanied by “frequent lightning” in parts.

Takeaway sex beast kidnap horror as woman conned into thinking driver was Uber

A young woman has told how a takeaway delivery driver subjected her to a horrific sexual attack after conning her into believing he was her Uber driver.

Predator Abdul Samad snatched his chance to prey on the 20-year-old as she waited for her cab in a lonely Glasgow street at 5am.

Samad, 39, assaulted her repeatedly as he casually drove his hot food delivery route after convincing his victim he was a private hire driver.

Early cancer symptoms that strike first thing in morning as expert issues warning

An expert has identified telltale signs of cancer that people must be aware of to ensure early treatment.

Abbas Kanani, a pharmacist at Chemist Click, has suggested that the way you wake up in the morning may be a major red flag.

He suggests that any bodily changes out of the ordinary in your morning routine should be investigated by a GP as soon as possible.

Concerns should particularly be raised if you wake up a with a sore throat that has persisted for more than two weeks.
