Missing two-year-old girl found dead in garden after three-day police search
A two-year-old girl who had been missing since Saturday has been found dead in a garden after she was reported missing.
A frantic search for the missing toddler had been launched by police in a bid to find the little girl after she vanished around 4pm on January 29.
However, officers have today confirmed that she was found dead in a garden at an address in Reede Road, Barking, less than four miles from where she disappeared.
Nicola Sturgeon confirms 26 cases of new "sub" variant of Omicron in Scotland
Nicola Sturgeon has announced 26 cases of a new “sub” variant of Omicron have been detected.
The First Minister said there is “no evidence” that BA.2 leads to more serious illness, but added it may be more transmissible than conventional Omicron.
Scientists have been monitoring BA.2, which has been designated as a covid variant under investigation.
Scotland weather chaos as Met Office issues another 65mph wind warning after storms
Another wind warning has been issued in Scotland as strong gusts continue to batter large parts of the country.
The latest Met Office yellow warning is in place across for northeastern and northern parts of Scotland. The warning has been in place since 6am this morning.
Forecasters say that winds of up to 65mph are expected to hit exposed coastal areas, with the likes of Sutherland, Caithness and Orkney seeing the worst of the conditions.

No ruling yet for legacy benefit claimants waiting on court decision over possible £1,500 arrears from the DWP
Nearly two million people across Scotland and the rest of the UK are still waiting on a judge to rule on whether the UK Government's decision not to extend the £20 uplift to claimants on legacy benefits and provide them with additional support during the pandemic was fair.
People on Universal Credit received a £20 weekly increase from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) from April 2020 to October 2021 to help them pay for additional costs incurred during the coronavirus crisis and subsequent lockdowns.
