New 'danger to life' phone alerts with loud sirens to be sent by government
People could receive emergency alerts on their phones and tablets as part of a new government service set to be launched.
The 'danger to life' alerts could pop up on your mobile's screen and make a loud siren-like noise if you are deemed to be in an emergency.
Dangerous situations include dangerous weather, fires, explosions or a public health crisis.
The new service is due to be launched by the government later this year after a trial last summer.
Belarus invades Ukraine as second nation to join Russian attack
Belarus has joined the Russian invasion to become the second country to attack Ukraine, the government has said.
Ukrainian parliament claims that troops 'have entered' the northern region of Chernihiv, according to a tweet from its official Twitter account.
The invasion was confirmed by Latvian Defence Minister, Dr Atis Pabriks, who stated Belarusian soldiers had crossed the border into Ukraine, the Mirror reports.
Scottish Government announces 'important changes' to Covid testing guidance
The Scottish Government has updated its guidance on lateral flow tests as the country continues to emerge from the worst of Omicron Covid wave.
In December, Scots were urged to take a rapid test every time before they meet up with friends and family.
This came as cases of Covid spiked following the emergence of the Omicron in Scotland.
Officials have now reverted back to the old guidance, which says that Scots should only take a lateral flow test twice week.
Child Benefit payments will increase next month - here are the new weekly rates
Child Benefit is a payment made to people who are responsible for bringing up a child aged below 16 or a young person under 20, if they are still in full-time education or on certain approved training courses.
The new financial year starts on April 6 which brings about a whole host of payment changes for those receiving benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
