Tuchel ‘open’ to Manchester United offer, Ronaldo commits to Old Trafford and other rumours

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is willing to listen to offers regarding the permanent Manchester United job this summer, according to reports.

The German indicated he would be willing to stay on under the new owners that take over from Roman Abramovich. But The Athletic report that several sources are claiming he would consider an offer from Old Trafford, should one be tabled.

If the situation at Chelsea remains unstable come the end of the season, United may look like an attractive, more stable prospect for the 2021 Champions League winner. Meanwhile, a report from Spanish outlet AS claims that Ronaldo has ‘decided’ to see out the final year of his contract with the Red Devils.

There has been rife speculation that the 37-year-old would make an Old Trafford exit if the club failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League. But, despite top four prospects looking bleak, football’s all-time scorer may stay after all due to the fact a new manager is surely set to replace Ralf Rangnick this summer.

Finally, Edinson Cavani has set his wage demands as he prepares to exit United when his contract expires this summer, according to journalist Jorge Nicola (via Sport Witness ). The Uruguayan has been linked with a move back to South America with Brazilian clubs Botafogo and Corinthians both interested in the 35-year-old.

However, they have been put off by Cavani’s salary wishes, which reportedly currently stand at £130,000 a week. It would be a significant reduction on his £205,000 wages at United but the figure is still way too high for both outfits. Cavani is still open to a move to Atletico Madrid or the MLS.
