Tim Tszyu has made the stunning claim that he has no plans to watch footage of Jermell Charlo before squaring off with the American for undisputed world super-welterweight honours.
Vowing to think on his feet, Tszyu will leave the necessary intel required for Charlo to his trusted trainer and uncle Igor Goloubev.
Tszyu (21-0, 15KO) not only has full faith in Goloubev to devise a successful game plan to stop Charlo (35-1-1,19KO) but also the confidence in his own ability to break down the heavy-hitting unified champ on the night.
"Nothing, zero," Tszyu told AAP when asked how much video of Charlo he'd be poring over between now and their Las Vegas showdown on January 28.
"Nah, I'm not ging to watch (anything). For me, it's just another day in the park, another day in the office.
"Igor will build me up to the certain shots that he throws but, for me, this isn't like a fight prep. This is just a way of living.
"I want to feel good and I'm going to wake up on the day and feel like it's any other day."
Halfway through a four-week acclimatisation camp in Los Angeles before relocating to Vegas at the end of the month, the laidback Tszyu is feeling as relaxed as ever.
He hopes to stay that way for his date with destiny.
"Of course there's nerves and excitement," Tszyu said on Sunday.
But he's determined to avoid becoming over-anxious in his quest to strip Charlo of his IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO titles and become the first Australian in the four-belt era to unify a weight division.
"Hopefully for this fight it's like I'm feeling right now. Hopefully the nerves don't come at all," Tszyu said.
"I just feel nice and relaxed. Nerves are good to a certain point but also people that get too nervous burn out. So there's a balance."
Other than promising victory, the 28-year-old is making no bold predictions about how the fight will unfold or how he plans to conquer Charlo.
"I'll see what I feel like on the night. I haven't made a game plan yet," Tszyu said.
"You've got to go in there and find a way to win."
While declining to reveal exactly what he has in store for Charlo, Tszyu candidly disclosed what he absolutely couldn't - and wouldn't - do.
"I can't make a mistake in this fight," he said.
"It won't happen. It won't happen."
The undefeated star learnt a valuable lesson on his US debut in March, knocked down early before recovering to score a unanimous points win over Terrell Gausha in Minneapolis.
"Everything was a rush for me. The whole fight was a rush," Tszyu said.
"I was just trying to put the pressure on and I walked into something, and that's it.
"I was never hurt but I walked into something and that was a little mistake.
"It was good for the mind to say, 'Now get back up, get your s--t together and come back'.
"My IQ is there, my defence is on point. That's something I've been working on a lot. I absorb all of that and appreciate that in this fight, there are no mistakes."
