TSB down as customers locked out of mobile and internet banking

Customers trying to access their TSB banking accounts online were locked out after an outage.

Both the website and app services are affected by the outage with complaints on social media suggesting people were unable to send any money. DownDetector, a website that tracks which services are having issues, spiked with reports from customers.

Hundreds of customers started reporting outages from around 7am on Friday, July 29. TSB said it was aware of the problems and was working to fix them.

In a tweet earlier today TSB said: "We're sorry if you’re experiencing issues accessing our Mobile App or Internet Banking this morning. We're working to solve this as soon as possible."

In an update just half an hour ago, TSB said it was still having issues. They said: "We’re aware some customers are still having issues. We’re working to resolve this as soon as possible."

TSB’s tweets were met with a range of complaints from users who said they were unable to transfer their money for bills and childcare.

Stephen Butterworth said: "So if I cannot access my app/banking and need to make payments... these payments could potentially be late. Are you going to reimburse any fees that may be incurred??"

Chris B said: "TSB Do you have a timescale of when your banking will be fixed I need to send over Childcare money?"

James Buckley said: "TSB you keep on saying some customers are experiencing difficulties. Its wholescale, not a few. This is getting beyond a joke. Amazing, staff today have been given a £1k bonus, have you all gone the pub and blocked online transactions?"
