The Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TS Genco) has stood first in the country in running its units with the highest plant load factor (PLF) of 73.87%, Chairman and Managing Director D. Prabhakar Rao has said.
Mr. Prabhakar Rao complimented the employees of TS Genco for keeping the generation utility ahead of others in the country with their dedication and hard work. The Genco has 11 units in Kothagudem, Kakatiya and Ramagundam B thermal power stations with an installed capacity of 4,042.5 megawatt and they have generated 24,800 million units of energy during 2021-22.
Similarly, the hydel units of TS Genco have generated 5,655 MU energy during the just concluded fiscal.
The thermal units of West Bengal Genco have come second with a PLF of 72%. Among the 800 megawatt capacity super critical thermal units, KTPS-VII (Unit-12) stood first with a PLF of 83.56%. In 2020-21, the PLF of TS Genco units was 72.35% while that of KTPS-VII was 87.18%.
The TS Genco authorities said that the Central public sector undertaking, NTPC, has a PLF of 70% during 2021-22 and the average PLF of thermal power plants in the country was 58%.
