Trump Vows To Appeal Hush Money Sentencing On Truth Social

Former U.S. President Donald Trump campaigns in Derry, New Hampshire

President-elect Donald Trump has responded to his hush money sentencing in a post on Truth Social, where he criticized Democrats and vowed to appeal the decision.

In his post, Trump referred to the sentencing as another 'pathetic, unAmerican Witch Hunt' orchestrated by Radical Democrats. He argued that there was never a case against him and emphasized that the American people had re-elected him with an overwhelming mandate in a historic election.

Trump dismissed the case as lacking in crime, damages, proof, facts, and law. He criticized the judge as highly conflicted and described the star witness as a disbarred, disgraced, serial perjurer involved in criminal election interference.

Calling the sentencing a 'despicable charade,' Trump announced plans to appeal the decision, which he deemed a hoax with no merit. He expressed his intention to restore the trust of Americans in the justice system, which he referred to as once great.

However, Judge Juan Merchan emphasized that the legal protections of the presidency do not diminish the seriousness of the crime or justify its commission. He stated that these protections do not grant the power to overturn a jury verdict.
