As Donald Trump prepares to take office as the 47th president of the United States, sources indicate that he is poised to sign a series of executive orders, with a particular focus on immigration. An incoming White House official has revealed that Trump is expected to sign 10 executive actions related to immigration as one of his top priorities.

In addition to the immigration-related orders, Trump and his team have reportedly prepared a list of pardons for individuals convicted for their involvement in the January 6 Capitol attack. These pardons are anticipated to be issued on Trump's first day in office, shortly after he is sworn in as president.

Biden Issues Preemptive Pardons

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has taken preemptive action by issuing pardons for Gen. Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of Congress who served on the committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. This move is seen as a strategic use of executive prerogative to shield these individuals from potential retaliation by Trump.

White House Welcomes Transition

Following a service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Biden and his wife Jill welcomed Trump and Melania to the White House. It is expected that Biden and Trump, along with their spouses, will share tea together at the White House, a tradition that symbolizes the peaceful transfer of power.

Senate Committees to Vote on Cabinet Nominations

After the inauguration, two key Senate committees are scheduled to convene to vote on the Cabinet nominations of Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth. This process marks a crucial step in the formation of the new administration.

Gratitude Expressed for Pardons

Individuals such as Fauci, Milley, and former Capitol Hill police officer Harry Dunn have expressed gratitude to Biden for the preemptive pardons. While some recipients were caught by surprise, the gesture has been met with appreciation for the protection it offers against potential repercussions.
