Former President Donald Trump is expected to make new additions to his campaign imminently, with the inclusion of his first 2016 campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski. The specific role that Lewandowski will undertake has not been clarified yet.
Lewandowski previously served as Trump’s campaign manager from June 2015 until his dismissal a year later amidst negative publicity, subsequently being replaced by Paul Manafort.
Sources have indicated that the current campaign team, co-managed by Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, will not be replaced. Lewandowski is being brought on board to assist in navigating the evolving political landscape.
In a joint statement, Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita expressed, “As we head into the home stretch of this election, we are continuing to add to our impressive campaign team. Corey Lewandowski, Taylor Budowich, Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz, and Tim Murtaugh are all veterans of prior Trump campaigns, and their unmatched experience will aid President Trump in presenting his case against Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the most radical ticket in American history.”
The recent additions to the campaign team follow a shift at the top of the Democratic ticket, resulting in increased enthusiasm and a rise in polls for Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s new rival. Earlier this month, the campaign also welcomed another long-time Trump ally, Taylor Budowich, as a senior adviser. Budowich has led the super PAC, MAGA, Inc., for the past two years.
Despite the momentum gained by Harris, Trump’s campaign has emphasized that the core strategy remains unchanged. However, some of Trump’s allies have expressed concerns over his recent communication style, characterized by divisive remarks and conspiracy theories, which they believe have been counterproductive. There is a growing sentiment among his supporters that adjustments are needed to enhance the effectiveness of the campaign.
