Former President Donald Trump has once again issued threats of prosecution and long-term prison sentences for election officials and political operatives, should they engage in cheating during the 2024 election, if he were to win the presidency.
Trump reiterated the same message on September 7 on Truth Social, falsely alleging that Democrats committed fraudulent acts in the 2020 election. He claimed that he, along with attorneys and legal scholars, are closely monitoring the sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election.
It is important to note that the 2020 election was deemed highly secure, and Trump lost to Joe Biden by over 7 million votes. There is no substantial evidence of voter fraud that could have altered the election outcome in any state.
Trump's recent efforts to cast doubt on the integrity of the upcoming election have raised concerns. He has repeatedly hinted at using the justice system to target his political adversaries if he were to return to the White House. These threats emerged following his indictment in a Manhattan hush money case more than a year ago.
Despite Trump's claims, there is no widespread voter fraud that would have impacted the 2020 election results. Trump himself is facing charges related to election interference, including a four-count indictment in a federal case. Additionally, a separate election interference case against him in Fulton County, Georgia, has been put on hold indefinitely.
