Trump Suggests Ukraine May Recover Some Russia-Occupied Land

President Donald Trump speaks

President Donald Trump recently made comments regarding the possibility of Ukraine recovering some of its Russia-occupied land. During a press conference in the Oval Office with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump acknowledged the challenges Ukraine faces in reclaiming its lost territories, stating that it is not an easy task. He expressed optimism by mentioning that Ukraine could potentially regain some of the land it has lost over the past three years of conflict.

Since the full-scale invasion by Russia, Ukraine has reportedly lost control of approximately 11% of its territory, according to analysis. Trump also mentioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin would be open to the idea of European troops serving as peacekeepers in Ukraine. He indicated that he had discussed this possibility with Putin and believed that the deployment of troops could help ensure that any agreements reached are implemented effectively.
