Trump's Trial Resumes With Cross-Examination Of Stormy Daniels

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

The criminal trial of former President Trump continues with the cross-examination of adult film actress Stormy Daniels. The 2024 presumptive presidential nominee and his defense team were denied a mistrial motion amid Daniels' salacious testimony.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. These charges are the result of a lengthy investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

The charges specifically relate to alleged payments made before the 2016 presidential election to silence Daniels about an alleged 2006 extramarital affair with Trump.

Manhattan DA aims to prove Trump's involvement in a conspiracy to influence the election.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg aims to convince the jury that Trump not only falsified business records but did so in connection with a conspiracy to promote or prevent election, which is a felony offense.

While falsifying business records and conspiracy to promote or prevent election are misdemeanor charges individually, the prosecution is seeking to establish a more serious offense.

The defense team is preparing to further question Daniels during the trial. The cross-examination of the adult film actress, legally known as Stephanie Clifford, began earlier this week.
