Trump's Cabinet Nominees Hit With 'UnAmerican' Death Threats, Transition Team Claims

Donald Trump's newly-minted press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed on Wednesday that multiple Cabinet nominees and appointees have been targeted with violent threats, which has prompted law enforcement to act swiftly to ensure their safety.

Leavitt explained through a post on X:

"Last night and this morning, several of President Trump's Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them"

Leavitt went on to say that the incidents included bomb threats and "swatting" — false reports of emergencies intended to provoke armed police interventions at individuals' residences. Although she did not specify which Cabinet she was referring to in X, Fox News Digital reported that they included CIA director nominee John Ratcliffe, defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, and U.N. ambassador nominee Rep. Elise Stefanik.

Stefanik's office confirmed one of the incidents, stating that a bomb threat was made against her residence while she and her family were traveling:

"This morning, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her husband, and their three-year-old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their residence. New York State, County law enforcement, and U.S. Capitol Police responded immediately with the highest levels of professionalism. We are incredibly appreciative of the extraordinary dedication of law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe 24/7"

The threats come months after Trump survived an assassination attempt of his own during a rally on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania when he was hit by a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear by the now-deceased would-be-assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks. He was also targeted during another attempt in September in West Palm Beach Florida when gunshots were fired close to Trump International Golf Course. An Arizona man was also arrested on Wednesday after threatening to kill Trump and members of his family, accusing them of kidnapping and sex-trafficking his children.
