During a New York appeals court hearing on Friday, Donald Trump's attorney called for an interim stay in the hush money trial and requested a change of venue from Manhattan. The attorney argued that seating a jury within three days, with many potential jurors being dismissed for bias, was deemed unfeasible.
One instance highlighted was a female juror who requested to be dismissed due to feeling pressured by media attention. The attorney contended that the extensive publicity surrounding the case had created an unfair trial environment for Trump.
On the contrary, the district attorney's appeals lawyer argued that the jury selection process had been effective. He stated that there had been a thorough procedure in place to ensure jurors could remain fair and impartial. Additionally, he pointed out that a detailed juror questionnaire had been utilized, which was longer than usual.
Judge Marsha Michael indicated that she would soon issue a ruling on the matter, following the arguments presented by both sides.
