President Donald Trump has issued a directive to immediately reverse the green energy regulations on household appliances that were put in place during the Biden administration. These regulations included stricter climate standards for appliances like gas stoves, washing machines, and dishwashers, which experts and manufacturers warned could result in more expensive and less effective alternatives.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump instructed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), under the leadership of former Rep. Lee Zeldin, to undo Biden's climate mandates and return to what he referred to as 'common sense standards.'
Trump specifically mentioned orders related to water standards and flow for sinks, showers, toilets, washing machines, dishwashers, and lightbulbs. He expressed eagerness to sign these orders and thanked his supporters.

Republican lawmakers, who hold the majority in Congress, have also taken steps to counter Biden's green energy standards. Rep. Stephanie Bice introduced a resolution against the standards for coolers and freezers, while Rep. Gary Palmer introduced a resolution to block Biden's ban on water heaters.
In addition, the House passed the 'Liberty in Laundry Act' in January to prevent the Energy secretary and Department of Energy from implementing energy efficiency standards for clothes washers that are deemed technologically infeasible and economically unjustified.
These actions reflect the ongoing debate over environmental regulations and energy efficiency standards in the United States, with differing perspectives on the best approach to balancing environmental concerns and consumer needs.
