Former President Donald Trump held a rally in Sunset Park near the Las Vegas Strip, despite an excessive heat watch warning issued by the National Weather Service. Supporters gathered early, following a successful fundraiser in Nevada hosted by billionaire Don Ahern.

Trump criticized President Biden's executive order on the border, stating that it would make it easier for people to enter the country. He aims to become the first Republican to win Nevada since President George W. Bush in 2004.

According to Fox News polling, Trump is currently leading President Biden by five points in Nevada, within the margin of error. However, only 42% of registered Nevada voters approve of Trump's job performance, with 58% disapproving.

Nevadans are facing financial challenges, with 49% feeling they are falling behind economically. Trump's visit coincides with the upcoming Nevada Republican Senate primary, where candidates are vying for his endorsement.

The primary winner will challenge Democratic Senator Jackie Rosen in the general election. Trump promised service workers at the rally that he would eliminate taxing their tips if elected in November, receiving a positive response from the crowd.
