Former President Donald Trump, who is seeking to return to the White House, has introduced the 'God Bless the USA Bible' as part of his latest commercial venture. The Bible, inspired by country singer Lee Greenwood's patriotic ballad, is being promoted on Trump's Truth Social platform. Priced at $59.99, the Bible includes a King James Version translation along with copies of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
In a video message, Trump encouraged his supporters to purchase the Bible, emphasizing the importance of prayer and stating, 'All Americans need a Bible in their home.' The website for the Bible describes it as 'Easy-to-read' with 'large print' and a 'slim design,' making it convenient for exploring God's Word anytime, anywhere.
Trump's new Bible is just one of several commercial ventures he has pursued recently. In addition to the Bible, he has launched a line of Trump-branded sneakers and dabbled in NFTs (nonfungible tokens). Last year, he reported earning between $100,000 and $1 million from digital trading cards featuring cartoon-like images of himself.
While the Bible's website clarifies that the product is not political and is not affiliated with any political campaign, it does use Trump's name, likeness, and image under a paid license from CIC Ventures LLC. This arrangement is similar to the one Trump has with 45Footwear, a company that sells Trump-branded footwear, cologne, and perfume.
Despite his commercial pursuits, Trump remains popular among white evangelical Christians, who are among his most fervent supporters. His promotion of the 'God Bless the USA Bible' comes as he faces financial challenges due to mounting legal bills from ongoing legal battles. The Bible is positioned as a patriotic and faith-based product, aligning with Trump's messaging of making America pray again.
Trump's foray into selling Bibles adds to his diverse portfolio of commercial endeavors, which have ranged from steaks to digital trading cards. While his business ventures have drawn both support and criticism, Trump continues to leverage his brand and popularity to engage with his base and generate revenue.
