During a recent House Republican Members Conference dinner in Doral, Florida, President Donald Trump raised eyebrows by expressing uncertainty about his eligibility to run for a third term as president. Trump stated that he had raised a significant amount of money for the next race, but was unsure if he could use it for himself. He jokingly asked Speaker of the House Mike Johnson for clarification on the matter.
This isn't the first time Trump has hinted at the possibility of seeking a third term. In a previous appearance in Las Vegas, he mentioned the idea of serving not just twice, but potentially three times, fueling speculation about his future political ambitions.

Republican Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee has discussed the idea of amending the US Constitution to allow Trump to run for a third term. However, amending the Constitution is a challenging process. It requires either a two-thirds vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, or a constitutional convention, which has not been held since the 18th century. Additionally, ratifying a new amendment would necessitate approval from three-fourths of state legislatures.
Aside from the topic of a potential third term, Trump also addressed the issue of TikTok at the conference dinner. He reiterated his support for the app and emphasized his desire for it to be sold by its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, with no involvement from China. Trump mentioned that there is significant interest from various parties in acquiring the platform.
