Bill O’Reilly has revealed he had to console Donald Trump after he was booed by his own supporters for admitting he got a vaccine booster jab.
Things got a little awkward for the former US president on Sunday, when he was met with boos from his own fans for saying he received his booster shot of the coronavirus vaccine.
The revelation was made in Dallas, where the Republican held his last live show of The History Tour with ex-Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.
“Both the president and I are vaxxed, and did you get the booster,” the broadcaster asked Mr Trump.
“Yes,” the businessman replied, with Mr O’Reilly confirming he also got the jab.
After supporters booed Mr Trump’s revelation, he quickly responded to the criticism: “Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t. Don’t- no, there’s a very tiny group over there.”
O’Reilly told NewsNation on Monday that Trump called him after the event, and felt hurt by the reaction.
But the news personality responded with words of encouragement, saying it was good for his image.
“I said ‘This is good for you, this is good that people see another side of you, not a political side, you told the truth, you believe in the vax, your administration did it, and you should take credit for it, because it did save, I don’t know, hundreds of thousands of lives.’”
The ex-Fox News star said Trump will definitely run in 2024, adding: “I’m trying to tell President Trump, run on your record. He’s going to run again, all right.”
News of the former Apprentice star getting boosted came despite him previously telling The Wall Street Journal in September that he “probably won’t” get the jab.

In the same conversation on vaccines, Mr Trump told the crowd to “take credit” for the jab, adding “what we’ve done is historic”.
“Don’t let them take it away. Don’t take it away from ourselves. You’re playing right into their hands when you’re sort of like, ‘oh, the vaccine’.
“If you don’t want to take it, you shouldn’t be forced to take it – no mandates – but take credit, because we saved tens of millions of lives,” he said.
While Mr Trump may have overseen the rollout of a vaccine as president, the US also reached a total of 400,000 Covid deaths on his last day in office in January.
Twitter users have expressed shock at the footage, with some comparing it to “Frankenstein” losing control of his monster:
It's a Frankenstein moment when not even Victor can control the monster he made

He’s created a Frankenstein he can no longer contain https://t.co/FLWrP2TwoB
Trump kept himself safe while telling others to do the opposite this whole time. He’s truly a vile human being. https://t.co/yanueCGGyH

This is the funniest thing about Trump supporters being so deeply & foolishly anti-vax. Vaccine was whipped up under Trump administration and Trump is fully vaccinated and has several times now told his followers they should get vaccinated too. ALL YOUR DUMB HEROES GOT THE SHOTS. https://t.co/irxq91omUQ

I don’t think there’s ever been another president as loved by his fans. He’s literally the only person in their life they’ll engage their superegos for. https://t.co/udlfFRJjjZ

No! They're saying "boo-sters! Boo-sters!" https://t.co/6iIkTs1WZp
It’s fair to say that in Dallas, Trump supporters certainly put the ‘boo’ in booster...
