President Donald Trump was fact-checked after claiming a transgender woman won a race by more than five hours during his congressional address Tuesday evening.
The president was referring to an 800-mile bikepacking race that occurs in Arizona each year during which participants cycle for a portion of the race then put the bicycle on their back to hike other parts. The kicker, according to TikTok creator Coach Jackie J, is the race is open to everyone.
"Men and women take part in this race," she stated in a video shared Wednesday.

The race takes several days to complete, and Austin Killips completed the course in 8 days, 23 hours, and 27 minutes in 2024, breaking the previous record of 9 days, 5 hours, and 43 minutes. Killips' record has since been broken.
This isn't the first time Trump has framed his argument for banning trans women from women's sports around Killips. He used her story when he signed the "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports" executive order last month, prompting Killips to respond.
"Trump's executive order is a perfect scam: he and his acolytes get to talk endlessly about the fake specter of trans athletes 'invading' women's sports, while never putting any of their attention, immense political cache and funding access towards things that would meaningfully elevate the state of women's sports," Killips wrote in an opinion piece published by The Guardian.
"Instead, they get to fixate their hate and attention on every transsexual woman who dares show up to a rec T-ball league with her friends."
