President Donald Trump has made it clear that Elon Musk, the CEO of companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, X, and Neuralink, will not be awarded any new government contracts if there is a conflict of interest with his role overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
While Trump did not explicitly mention whether Musk's existing companies could continue to receive government contracts, he emphasized that Musk would not be granted contracts in areas where conflicts with his government responsibilities may arise.

During a recent interaction, Trump stated, 'No, not if there’s a conflict — if there’s no conflict, I guess, what difference does it make? But we won’t let him do anything having to do with a conflict.'
Trump further assured that he was personally monitoring the situation to prevent any conflicts of interest. He added, 'First of all, he wouldn’t do it, and second of all, we’re not going to let him do anything with a conflict of interest.'
Elon Musk, on the other hand, has maintained that his actions are transparent and open to the public.
President Trump also commended the work of the DOGE team, highlighting their focus on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) without any plans to shut down the agency.
It remains to be seen how this development will impact Musk's businesses and their interactions with the government in the future.
