President Donald Trump recently shared details of his G7 virtual meeting, which focused on acknowledging the Third Anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine War. French President Emmanuel Macron joined Trump in the Oval Office for the meeting convened by Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada, the current chair of G7.
During the meeting, Trump reiterated his belief that the war would not have started if he were President and emphasized the importance of finding a resolution. He highlighted the proposed Critical Minerals and Rare-Earths Deal between the US and Ukraine, expressing hope for its imminent signing.
A finalized draft of the US-Ukraine resources agreement has been presented to the Trump administration, outlining a reconstruction fund for Ukraine. However, technical details, including security guarantees, are still subject to further discussions.

Trump also mentioned ongoing discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding ending the war and future economic development between the US and Russia. He expressed optimism about the progress of these talks.
Notably, Ukraine was not invited to recent US-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia, where Trump echoed Kremlin disinformation about the war's origins and referred to Ukrainian President Zelensky as a dictator. In response, European leaders held an emergency meeting in Paris to address bolstering continental security without US assistance.
