Trump Denounces Project 2025'S Abortion Stance

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump attends a "commit to caucus" event, in Ankeny

Former President Trump recently expressed his disagreement with Project 2025's proposals on abortion during an exclusive interview on 'The Faulkner Focus.' Trump stated that he was not in favor of the group's conservative stance on the issue, describing it as 'too severe' and 'way too far.'

Trump highlighted his role in appointing three new Supreme Court justices, which led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, allowing states to have more autonomy in regulating abortion laws. He emphasized his belief in returning the decision-making power on abortion back to the states and the people.

Project 2025, also known as the Presidential Transition Project, was launched in April 2023 as a blueprint for potential restructuring of the U.S. government under a future Republican administration. The initiative includes proposals such as making it illegal to mail abortion pills across state lines.

Despite some media reports linking Trump to Project 2025, the former president distanced himself from the project, stating that he had no knowledge of the individuals behind it and disavowing some of the extreme recommendations put forth by the group.

Trump's campaign spokesperson clarified that the only policies endorsed by Trump for a potential second term were Agenda 47 and President Trump’s RNC Platform, dismissing claims of any association with Project 2025 as false and politically motivated attacks by Democrats.

The Biden campaign has been vocal in criticizing Project 2025, accusing it of advocating for radical changes in government policies related to staffing, abortion, taxes, and other issues. However, Trump reiterated his lack of involvement with the initiative and expressed his disagreement with certain aspects of its proposals.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump reiterated his stance, stating that while he wished the project luck, he did not support all of its ideas and had no affiliation with the group.
