Former President Donald Trump has stated that he does not believe he breached the gag order that prohibits him from discussing witnesses in his New York criminal hush money trial. This statement follows a request from prosecutors for Judge Juan Merchan to penalize Trump for alleged violations.
Prosecutor Chris Conroy urged Judge Merchan to hold Trump in contempt and fine him $1,000 for each of three social media posts that prosecutors claim violate the gag order. Trump responded to CNN's inquiry by asserting, 'No, I didn’t. There shouldn’t be a gag order.'
