While the building's owner seemed to confirm this narrative, city officials attributed the issue to substandard housing conditions rather than migrant gangs. Local law enforcement denied claims that Venezuelan gangs had taken over any buildings in the city.
During his speech in Reno, Trump criticized Colorado's Democratic governor for allegedly failing to address the gang issue, calling him 'petrified' and 'afraid.' Governor Jared Polis dismissed Trump's attacks, stating that he was pleased to divert attention from other political matters.
Trump also used the rally to endorse Nevada Senate candidate Sam Brown, who is challenging Democratic incumbent Jacky Rosen in a closely contested race. He urged Nevada voters to elect Brown as a patriot who would uphold their values in Washington and Reno.
