Former President Donald Trump has revealed that his team is currently evaluating the possibility of engaging in another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. This comes after Harris's team promptly called for a second debate in October.
During a visit to the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania, Trump expressed his openness to participating in debates hosted by NBC and FOX. However, he emphasized that a decision on whether to proceed with another debate is still pending.
Trump highlighted the perspective that winning a debate may not necessarily warrant a rematch, contrasting it with the eagerness for a rematch often seen in individuals who have faced defeat.
Referring to the previous debate, Trump asserted that according to various polls, he emerged as the victor. Despite this, he acknowledged the possibility of a rematch but stated that a final decision is yet to be made.
On the other hand, a senior official from the Harris campaign refrained from confirming whether Harris would agree to a second debate scheduled for September 25 on NBC, following the recent debate performance.
Trump described his interaction with Harris at the 9/11 commemoration ceremony as 'very polite,' noting that they exchanged pleasantries and shook hands.
As the deliberations continue regarding a potential second debate between Trump and Harris, the political landscape remains dynamic and subject to further developments.
