Trump campaign website uses 'iconic' bloody fist pump photo from attempted assassination to raise funds

Saturday's assassination attempt on Former President and presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump continues to send shockwaves across the U.S., completely dominating the conversation.

Also dominant is one of the many pictures taken in the immediate aftermath of the failed assassination, which shows Trump with blood across his face and raising a fist in defiance. "Fight!" he screamed as he was rushed off stage by Secret Service agents.

Following the incident, Trump's official website has begun redirecting to WinRed, a fundraising platform for conservative candidates across the U.S. In it, visitors are greeted by an all-black landing page which features Trump's campaign logo along with a black-and-white version of the photograph.

The image is captioned with "I am Donald J. Trump. FEAR NOT! I will always love you for supporting me." The page also carries Trump's signature and gives visitors to the website options to contribute at different levels.

In an interview published late on Sunday by the New York Post, Trump referred to the photo featured on the website by saying "a lot of people say it's the most iconic photo they've ever seen." "Usually you have to die to have an iconic picture," he added.

Trump used similar words on Sunday, saying in a social media post that "we will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness."

"Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed. In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win," the former president added.

Trump is set to continue occupying the spotlight as the Republican National Convention begins on Monday. According to Fox News' Bret Baier, he is expected to reveal his choice for a running mate. Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota are the most likely picks.

NBC News reported that Vance and Rubio met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, while Burgum had a telephone conversation with him.
