The Trump campaign has been diligently compiling opposition research on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, among other potential contenders for Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate. The focus of their strategy is to portray Walz as more liberal than both Harris and President Joe Biden, emphasizing his record as governor over the past four years.

According to senior Trump campaign advisers, the goal is to highlight Walz's alignment with progressive ideologies and his support for Biden administration policies. They intend to scrutinize his tenure in Congress and as governor, aiming to present him as a staunch advocate of left-leaning agendas.

Key points of attack are expected to include Walz's positions on border control, gun rights, law enforcement, his association with Rep. Ilhan Omar, his stance on economic policies, and his foreign policy record.

The campaign also plans to emphasize Harris' decision not to choose Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her vice presidential candidate. Despite concerns within Trump's circle about Shapiro's potential impact on winning Pennsylvania, they intend to argue that Harris yielded to far-left influences in her decision-making process.

Trump's team will assert that Harris' rejection of Shapiro was influenced by left-wing voices apprehensive about his handling of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
