Trump Blames Biden For Murder Of Augusta University Student

U.S. President Donald Trump, left, and Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden attend the second and final presidential debate Oct. 22, 2020, at Belmont University in Nashvil

Former President Trump has pointed fingers at President Biden's border policies in the wake of the tragic murder of Augusta University student Lakin Riley. The suspect, an illegal migrant from Venezuela, stands accused of taking the life of the aspiring nurse while she was out for a run on the University of Georgia campus.

Trump criticized Biden's handling of border security, stating, 'Joe Biden's border invasion is destroying our country and killing our citizens.' He pledged to seal the border, halt the influx of migrants, and initiate a large-scale deportation operation targeting illegal criminals if he were to return to office.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz echoed Trump's sentiments, attributing Riley's death to policy decisions made by the current administration. Cruz emphasized the need for immediate deportation of the suspect back to Venezuela.

In response to the murder, the White House issued a statement emphasizing the importance of holding individuals accountable under the law. The statement deferred further inquiries to state law enforcement and ICE due to the ongoing nature of the case.

The migrant suspect is facing serious charges, including felony murder, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and concealing the death of another individual. The case has sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice.
