Trump Attributes Israel-Hamas Ceasefire To Historic Victory

Donald Trump to testify in New York civil fraud trial

President-elect Donald Trump recently spoke at a rally in Washington, DC, where he credited the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas to what he described as a historic victory. Trump emphasized that the ceasefire, seen as a significant step towards lasting peace in the Middle East, was made possible due to the success of his administration.

During his address, Trump announced the release of the first three Israeli hostages by Hamas and its allies. The hostages, identified as Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher, and Emily Damari, were reported to be in good health and receiving medical treatment in Tel Aviv. In return for their release, Israel is set to free 90 Palestinian prisoners and detainees from Ofer Prison in the occupied West Bank over the next six weeks.

Trump expressed pride in the achievements of his incoming administration in the Middle East, highlighting that these accomplishments were made in less than three months. He compared his administration's progress to that of previous administrations, stating that they had achieved more without holding the presidency than others had in four years.

The successful negotiation of the ceasefire was attributed to the collaboration between Trump's team and President Joe Biden's team. A senior Biden administration official described the cooperation as 'almost unprecedented,' noting that the deal was facilitated by a unique alignment of interests between the two rival factions following Trump's victory.
