A recent source familiar with the matter revealed that Thomas Crooks, the individual who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump, had researched mass high school shooter Ethan Crumbley prior to the assassination attempt.
Ethan Crumbley, now 18 years old, is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the tragic incident that occurred at Oxford High School in Michigan in November 2021. At the age of 15, Crumbley took the lives of four students and injured seven others.
The source disclosed that Crooks had looked up to Crumbley before carrying out the assassination attempt at Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
Following Crumbley's conviction, his parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, were also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors argued that the couple failed to properly secure their guns and home, neglecting to provide their son with the necessary help before the shooting took place. The parents even visited Oxford High School administrators on the same morning of the tragic incident to discuss their son's disturbing drawings etched in glass.
Aside from researching Crumbley, Crooks' internet search history included images of Trump and Biden, the Democratic National Convention (DNC), and 'major depressive disorder,' as previously reported by The New York Times. Investigators uncovered this information after gaining access to Crooks' phone.
These revelations shed light on the intricate web of connections and influences that can lead individuals down dangerous paths. Understanding the factors that contribute to such violent acts is crucial in preventing future tragedies.
