Donald Trump White house Former President Trump Visits The Southern Border With Texas Governor Abbott

Former President Trump has made a decision regarding his running mate for the upcoming 2024 election, ruling out Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. Multiple sources confirmed on Monday that Rubio, a three-term conservative senator, was not selected as the GOP's vice presidential nominee. Similarly, Burgum, a two-term governor and prominent Trump supporter, was also informed that he would not be chosen as the former president's running mate.

The Trump campaign has announced that the official unveiling of the running mate will take place at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee during the Republican National Convention. The reveal is scheduled for 4:37 PM ET, just before the vice presidential roll call nominating process begins.

In addition to Rubio and Burgum, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio was also considered a leading candidate to join Trump on the ticket as his running mate.
