During their dialogue, Trump and Kennedy explored the idea of Kennedy endorsing Trump's campaign and potentially withdrawing from the presidential race. Additionally, they deliberated on potential roles for Kennedy within a hypothetical second Trump administration, ranging from Cabinet-level positions to roles not requiring Senate confirmation.
However, no formal agreement was reached between the two parties. Trump's aides expressed reservations about committing to a job in the administration in exchange for an endorsement, as per the Post's report.
