A recent poll conducted in Georgia has revealed that former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are in a tight race for the 2024 presidential election in the state. The survey, released on Wednesday, shows Trump leading with approximately 46.9% of voters expressing their support for him, while Harris is close behind with 44.4% of voter preference.

With a margin of error of 3.1%, the poll indicates that the election in Georgia is currently a toss-up between the two candidates. Around 7% of voters remain undecided, while third-party candidates, including Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver, polled below 1%.

The survey, conducted by the University of Georgia School of Public & International Affairs Survey Research Center, interviewed 1,000 likely voters across the state between September 9 and September 15. The interviews were carried out over the telephone with citizens who had participated in the 2020 general election or a subsequent election.

One of the key findings of the poll is that inflation is the top concern among Georgia voters in this election cycle. Following inflation, economic issues and the preservation of democracy were identified as significant concerns, with immigration and abortion policy also featuring prominently.

The results of this poll highlight the competitive nature of the upcoming election in Georgia and the importance of key issues such as inflation and the economy in shaping voter preferences. As the race continues to unfold, both Trump and Harris will likely intensify their efforts to secure support in this crucial battleground state.
