Former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently held a meeting in Miami, marking their first conversation since DeSantis withdrew from the GOP primary in January. The meeting was facilitated by Steve Witkoff, a close friend of Trump and a luxury real estate developer, at the request of DeSantis.
The gathering, which took place on Sunday, was first reported by The Washington Post. Witkoff is also organizing a fundraiser for Trump in Miami next Sunday, as per an invite obtained by a source.
During an appreciation retreat earlier this month, DeSantis informed donors and supporters that he would assist in fundraising for Trump. Despite endorsing Trump in the Republican primary following his own unsuccessful White House bid, DeSantis has not made any joint appearances with the presumptive GOP nominee at campaign events since.
