President Donald Trump’s allies, including Vice President JD Vance, are actively working to garner support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard following their confirmation hearings this week. Both nominees faced tough questioning from Democrats and some Republicans, marking a rare display of skepticism from GOP senators towards Trump’s picks.
Concerns are particularly high regarding Gabbard’s confirmation, especially after she declined to express her opinion on Edward Snowden's actions during her hearing. However, efforts are being made to address these concerns, with Gabbard engaging in private meetings with senators to clarify her stance on Snowden and surveillance practices in the US.

On the other hand, Kennedy encountered bipartisan scrutiny during his confirmation hearings as he sought to distance himself from his past anti-vaccine remarks. Despite his history of linking vaccines to autism, Kennedy is now attempting to downplay these views to win over senators, including Sen. Bill Cassidy, who acknowledged Kennedy’s efforts to shift his stance on vaccines.
The White House is actively involved in reassuring lawmakers and addressing reservations surrounding both nominees. While Gabbard has made progress in alleviating concerns through private discussions, Kennedy continues to face challenges in convincing senators of his suitability for the role.
