As some of Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks faced Senate confirmation hearings today, his administration continued its nationwide crackdown of undocumented immigrants across parts of the US. The administration is aiming for every US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office to make at least 75 arrests a day, as per White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.
The latest enforcement actions by ICE have resulted in a significant number of arrests. ICE reported arresting 1,016 individuals and lodging 814 detainers in a single day, marking an increase from the previous day's numbers. In Philadelphia, a raid at a North Philadelphia car wash led to seven arrests, prompting immigrant rights advocates to protest outside of ICE headquarters.
In New York City, a man arrested in the immigration crackdown was wanted for burglary and felony menacing in Aurora, Colorado. The individual, identified as a high-ranking member of the Tren de Aragua gang, was captured on security camera during the incident at an apartment complex.

President Trump's executive actions have targeted the Tren de Aragua gang, recommending the State Department to designate it as a foreign terrorist organization. The administration has also revoked extended deportation protections for Venezuelans, affecting over 600,000 individuals in the US.
Meanwhile, Honduran President Xiomara Castro canceled an urgent meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) due to a lack of consensus. The meeting was intended to address issues including the recent wave of migrant deportations from the US.
