President Donald Trump admitted that his interactions with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky have become somewhat strained in recent days as he engages in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, excluding Kyiv from the negotiations.
During a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in the Oval Office, Trump stated, 'We want to work with him (Zelensky), and we will work with him. I think the president and I actually have had a very good relationship. It maybe got a little bit testy.'

Trump pointed to the issue of European nations seeking repayment from Ukraine as a factor contributing to the tension in the relationship. However, Starmer interjected to clarify that most of the UK's aid to Ukraine was provided as a gift, not a loan.
The president is scheduled to host Zelensky at the White House in the coming days. Trump emphasized that he maintains positive relationships with both Zelensky and Putin, stating, 'I get along with both. I have a very good relationship with President Putin. I think I have a very good relationship with President Zelensky.'
The upcoming meeting between Trump and Zelensky will be closely watched as the two leaders navigate their differences and seek common ground on various geopolitical issues.
