A truck driver has died on the Central Coast after his truck rolled at Watanobbi, police have said.

The 60-year-old driver died at the scene, police said, after his vehicle crashed and rolled on Casey Drive, about an hour's drive south of Newcastle, around 10am on Saturday, November 2.

Traffic was diverted around the scene and drivers have been told to avoid the area as officers look into the circumstances of the crash. A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident on the Mid-North Coast on Friday, police say they were led on a pursuit through the suburbs of Forster when a driver allegedly failed to stop as officers tried to pull them over on Godwin Street.

Manning-Great Lakes police say they were patrolling Godwin Street when they tried to stop a white Subaru SUV. When the car pulled over and officers approached, the driver allegedly drove at police and fled the scene.

Police gave chase through Boundary Street, where they threw out road spikes, bringing the car to an eventual stop on Cabarita Avenue.

Three officers, including one from Traffic Highway Patrol Command, were injured during a dramatic arrest. Two of whom required treatment from paramedics before being taken to hospital. Police said in a statement that both officers had since been released.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with a string of offences, including driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, using a weapon during his arrest, and assaulting police.

He was refused bail.
