Truck driver captures mysterious ghostly figure standing at side of highway at night

In a bizarre incident on Friday night, a truck driver captured a startling figure that appeared to be a ghostly apparition in his dashcam.

While driving on Arizona's State Route 87, William Church noticed a figure standing motionless on the roadside.

The driver then checked the footage from his dashcam and was surprised to see an eerie ghostly figure, as seen in the video.

He said there were no other vehicles in sight and described the glare that appeared at the side of the road as resembling a standing human figure with its legs apparent.

The highway, SR 87, has been dubbed one of Arizona's "most dangerous roads".

The sighting occurred in the early hours of Saturday, at about 2.30am local time (9.30am UK time).

The driver said it was "just standing in the roadway as I passed by looks like you can see the lines through the legs making the figure," Fox News reported.

Arizona State Route 87 is a 287.26-mile-long highway that starts near Picacho, an unincorporated community and census-designated place in the state's Pinal County.

It is also known as the Beeline Highway because it makes a "Beeline" for the high country of Payson.

Enthusiasts of the paranormal have identified various "haunted" places in Arizona, according to a travel guide.

Less than a hundred miles from SR 87, in Wickenburg, lies the Vulture Mine. which was one of the most productive gold mines in Arizona in the late 1800s.

Many people died there from accidents or illnesses, and it is said that their ghosts still haunt the mine.

Visitors reported hearing strange noises, feeling cold spots, and seeing apparitions.

Some have even reported feeling a hand on their shoulder or hearing whispers in their ear.

Within a similar distance from the end of the highway, a legend said that ghosts of patients haunt the Jerome Grand Hotel, a hotel that was originally a hospital.

Visitors reported hearing strange noises, seeing apparitions, and feeling cold spots.

The most famous ghost is said to be a headless man who wanders the halls at night.

A bit further away, in the southern part of the state, there is the Birdcage theatre, which was a popular entertainment spot in the Wild West, where cowboys would come to drink, gamble and watch shows.

Many people died here, either from gunfights or accidents, and it is said that their ghosts still linger in the building.

Visitors have reported hearing strange noises, seeing apparitions, and feeling a cold breeze in certain areas.
