TRS leaders irked by Minister allocating scheme to Congress workers

Taking strong objection to the alleged issuance of proceedings to some Congress party workers for sanction of units under the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Mulugu district, several elected representatives of the local bodies belonging to the ruling TRS sought immediate cancellation of the proceedings.

A host of mandal level leaders of the ruling TRS, from various parts of the district, met in Tadvai on Saturday to discuss alleged injustice meted out to the eligible cadres of the TRS in selection of the beneficiaries under the State government’s flagship scheme aimed at financial empowerment of Dalits. They held Minister for Tribal Welfare Satyavathi Rathod, who represented the district, responsible for the mess.

Seeking justice to the TRS cadre, those working for the party since the statehood movement, they alleged that the Congress cadre were being issued proceedings under the scheme in the district.

Some of them expressed their anguish saying that they would be forced to resign to their posts if the “irregularities” in Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries’ selection process were not rectified immediately, sources said.

They reportedly addressed a letter to the TRS leadership seeking its urgent intervention in the matter.
