A troubled Lanarkshire restaurant, which was forced to close its doors after an alleged series of "targeted" attacks, is set to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
The former San Vincenzo property in Bothwell will be auctioned with the minimum opening bid set at just £150,000.
In March 2020, the building was listed for sale, with an initial price tag of £600,000 but that was later lowered to offers over £500,000 following a long line of shocking attacks. It will now to go to auction on September 12.
Back in October 2019, owner Vincent Marini shut up shop amid claims of a targeted campaign and a "sustained effort" to drive him out of business.
Shortly before closing his doors that year a red Vauxhall Corsa was deliberately driven through a large window of the building before being set on fire.
Horrified locals watched as massive 50ft flames leapt from the property.
The ram-raid was the third attack on the restaurant in as many months which included a vehicle being torched outside the property, and in another incident a pick-up truck captured on CCTV as it smashed through a window straight into the restaurant before speeding off.
It had also been targeted by vandals who spray-painted the outside and the roof set on fire.
Thousands of pounds of damage was caused to the restaurant over the months, leading to Marini to close it down.
And since its closure police have probed a further spate of deliberate fires at the property - including two this year.
San Vincenzo is currently listed as an "exciting opportunity" on Auction House Scotland, but the website does say the 'internal accommodation has been extensively fire damaged and vandalised throughout, requiring a full programme of works to return to its former glory".
