A Lanarkshire domestic offender moved back in with his former partner despite a court order to stay away from her.
Police discovered the flagrant breach after a report that Craig Sheridan had attacked his ex again.
Sheridan, 30, appeared from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.
He admitted breaching a non-harassment order by staying at the woman's home in Northmuir Drive, Wishaw, between August 12 and 26 last year.
Sheridan also admitted assaulting the woman.
The NHO was imposed at the same court in November 2021 for assaults on her.
John Coogan, prosecuting, said Sheridan stayed at her home for two weeks "without incident" until they had a row at 5am on August 26.
He stated: "The accused flipped the bed on which the woman was sitting into the air.
"This caused her to be turned upside down and pinned against the headboard.
"He then picked up a piece of the broken wooden bed frame and began to strike her on the head and body.
"The woman had managed to call her mother who was able to initiate a video call and saw her daughter was crying.
"The police were called and when officers arrived Sheridan said 'I'm going back to the jail. Fourteen days I've been back in that house.
"I've done wrong but so has she. I should never have got back with her'."
Mr Coogan said the woman suffered bruising to her arm during the assault.
Defence agent Bobby Reid said Sheridan had "good intentions" when breaching the NHO as he was helping to look after his son.
He had an early start while working as a window cleaner and wasn't happy that his ex-partner was staying out so late.
Mr Reid added: "That was the catalyst for this behaviour though he doesn't question her fitness to look after the child.
"He accepts the way he acted was appalling and apologises profusely."
Sheriff John Speir imposed a fresh six-year non-harassment order and deferred sentence until next month.
Sheridan, who has been in prison since his arrest, was again remanded in custody.
