A 40-year-old mum-of-eight has become a grandmother. Marie Buchan revealed that her oldest daughter has given birth to a baby son.
The young grandmother who lives in a housing association property in Selly Oak, Birmingham, told BirminghamLive: "My oldest daughter, who is 22, has just given birth to a lovely boy who she has named Jayden.
"Becoming a nan is amazing and the Buchan family grows. He is five weeks old now. It makes me feel old being a grandmother at the age of 40 but life passes so fast."
Marie's children are all aged between 10 and 22. Due the cost of living crisis, Marie revealed how she had turned to foodbanks in a desperate bit to survive.
She also revealed how she had been the victim of online abuse for years and called for anonymous social media accounts to be banned in a bid to end trolling earlier this year. The unknown commenters aimed the abuse at the fact that has eight children and is claiming benefits.
The haters would tell her that she is a 's***' and say they 'hope she dies' and has received dozens of such messages every week from anonymous accounts.
Marie is still on benefits but is currently looking for work.
