The excitement of booking tickets to a music festival is one of the best feelings whether it's your first or your fifth event.
However what isn't as fun is the thought of getting there and back with your bags and festival shoes on as you try and search Google Maps with little to no signal.
So to help you plan your trip, we have listed several ways to get from the city centre of Glasgow to where the TRNSMT festival will be held in the iconic Glasgow Green.
So whether you need to travel by taxi, bus, train or walking there, here are the options you need to know about.
How do you get from the city centre to Glasgow Green for TRNSMT music festival?
Bus - 17 minutes
If you want to hop on a bus, you can take the number 18 or 263, by First Bus, which will drop you off right outside Calton Bar on London Road.
After this, you can walk six minutes to Glasgow Green by turning onto Templeton Street shortly followed by Greendyke Street where you can soon follow the crowds of gig-goers and find yourself at the festival.
Other bus options departing from George Square include:

- 60A
- 2
You can get off at the Barras market and follows signs to Glasgow Green, which is about a 10 minute walk away.
Bike - 7 minutes
There are three cycle routes you can pick from if you are starting from the city centre and they can be found here.
Train - 18 minutes
If you want to take the train you can get it from Argyle Street. This will take you about three minutes on board and you should get off at Bridgeton.
After this you can walk just under 10 minutes heading up by the Crimson Star and taking a left turn once you see The Londoner, located on London Road.
After this you should see signs to Glasgow Green and people heading to the venue with it being just a few minutes walk away.
Walking - 25 minutes
You can see the walking routes from the city centre of Glasgow here. There are three options you can take - each the same walking time.
They are as follows:
- Walking via London Road - 25 minutes
Walking via Ingram Street and London Road/A749 - 25 minutes
Walking via Greendyke Street - 25 minutes
Taxi or driving - 7 minutes
If you are getting a taxi - or you need to drive or are getting dropped off - Goggle Maps has set our a route which you can find here taking you from the centre of town by George Square through Merchant City, past Trongate and the iconic Barras Markets on London Road, straight to the venue with this taking less than 10 minutes.
Although with it being the height of summer and many people off school, work, visiting the Barras during the weekend for the markets as well as the TRNSMT festival itself, there could be some delays.
