Thousands of music lovers are set to descend on Glasgow Green this weekend for TRNSMT Festival 2023.
Scotland's biggest music festival will take place from July 7-9, and fans will be treated to a massive range of performances from some of the biggest artists at the moment as well as some great food, fairground rides and other unmissable entertainment.
Pulp, The 1975, Kasabian, LF System and Sam Fender are just some of the artists that will be taking to the stage over the weekend, and if you've got tickets, it's worth being aware of certain items that cannot be taken in with you.
The non-camping festival will take over Glasgow Green this weekend for the sixth time, and bosses have urged people to follow the rules on what you can and can't take with you in order to have the best and safest festival experience possible.
With that in mind, here's everything that is banned from the site, as well as what you are permitted to bring.
TRNSMT 2023 banned items
- Bags and rucksacks bigger than A4 paper size
- Glass (including perfumes)
- Metal or hard plastic water bottles
- Food or drink/liquids even if unopened
- Drugs
- Flares (you will be charged by the Police)
- Smoke canisters (you will be charged by the Police)
- Flags
- Chairs
- Professional cameras
- Selfie sticks
- Umbrellas
- Weapons
- Frisbees/boomerangs
- Hi-vis tabards or jacket
Bosses have warned that you may be denied entry or even arrested if you're caught with any of these items, so they're best avoided at all costs.
CCTV and Police Detection Dogs will be in use at entrances and across the festival site.
You'll be removed from the site if found with flares, smoke canisters or drugs and will be even be charged by the Police, as it's now a criminal offence to be in possession of these at events.
Queues at the entrance are likely because of bag searches and ticket checks, so make sure to take this into account when planning your day.
Items you can take in
TRNSMT organisers have also provided some guidance on the things that you can bring in with you.
These include an essential bag that is smaller than A4 paper, and contactless or chip and pin bank cards as TRNSMT is fully cashless.
The festival also allows official TRNSMT soft collapsible water bottles or folding water pouches no bigger than 500ml, but they have to be empty when you arrive.
Other things you can bring include:
- Small travel size sunscreen
- Portable phone chargers
- Lip balm and makeup
- Small cameras
- Sunglasses
- Wipes
- Cigarettes & vapes
- Ear plugs
- Hand sanitiser
- Hats
If you need to bring medicine, it has to be clearly labelled in the original box or container and only be enough for one day.
And if you use a syringe, you can take this to one of TRNSMT's first aid points where you can dispose of it safely.
