TRNSMT fans left queuing 'for hours' to get into day two of festival as thousands descend on Glasgow Green

TRNSMT goers have described being left in queues "for hours" as they try to get into day two of the festival.

Thousands of people are currently queuing outside of Glasgow Green, with many growing frustrated at the long waits.

One woman told the Daily Record she fears someone is going to get hurt as the queues get bigger.

TRNSMT bosses have thanked fans for their patience and say they are trying to get everyone inside 'as soon as possible'.

The queue has been backing up for hours (Twitter)

She said: "We’ve been queuing for hours in it now. There’s no stewards whatsoever.

"People are being squashed and we’re still no further forward. There’s no one handing out water. It’s shocking!"

Millie Ward and Grace Grant, both 16, waited an hour and a half to enter from the east side of Glasgow Green. The queue at the west side was three times as long, according to a steward they spoke to.

Millie said: “We got here at half past two and just got in now at 4pm. My mum works in events and she’s been absolutely shocked at it - I’ve been texting her back and forth.

“It’s been quite bad waiting - nobody was handing out water or anything, and it is roasting.

“It was nothing like this yesterday and there’s nobody to speak to or complain to.”

Grace added: “A steward told us to walk round to the east side because the west queue was three times as long. There’s a fence at the east edge we saw people trying to climb over.”

Another woman said: "An hour and 40 mins to get through East Gate.

"Complete lack of stewards. Totally unsafe. People jumping barriers and moving them to form other queues."

Another furious reveller said: "Shocking. How is this safe for anyone, to be standing in a queue for that long on a hot day? Very disappointing."

Kate Powell said: “Well I don’t think I can really complain - we walked to the east entrance at 2pm and saw the queues. I was happy to join the queue but they weren’t moving at all.

“Luckily I’m staying at a pal’s house five minutes away so we’ve retreated there for some snacks and shade. Keep nipping out to see how far the queue is but it’s barely moved in the time we’ve been here.

“I haven’t been able to see some of the bands I wanted to, so if I was offered a partial refund I’d take it. I’m also not sure why the queues are so bad - spoken to some people who where here yesterday who said that it took them 10 minutes to get in.”

Around 50,000 people are expected to be attending TRNSMT today to watch more huge names, including The Strokes and The Snuts.

A spokesperson for TRNSMT said: "There are currently longer than average waiting times for fans entering the festival.

"Our welfare teams are handing out water to those queuing and we're doing our best to get everyone through security and inside as quickly and safely as possible.

"We're grateful for the patience of those waiting, and ask anyone who needs assistance to get the attention of the stewards or welfare teams.”
